We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance. ~Japanese Proverb
Happy Day 21 everyone!
Today is the final day of three weeks of YES! No matter where you are on your 30 day journey – give yourself a pat on the back. If you are reading this e-mail, at the very least, you are pondering living your YES! This journey is going to look different for everyone – so it doesn’t matter where you are – the only thing that matters is that you are finding new ways to say YES to yourself…YES to life…and YES to abundance!!
Listening to the animals: How did this go for everyone? This is the kind of experience that can really open some new insights for people – and would love to hear about them. Evan posted his animals experience in the blog – so go check that out. As for the rest of you – let’s hear it!!!!
Day 21: Footloose! Are you terrified? “He is calling this activity Footloose, and he has two dancing quotes at the top of the e-mail. Please…say that he is not going to make us…you know…dance!! Noooooooooo!!!!!!” YES YES YES!!! Day 21. The end of the third week. You have done some deep listening, phoned friends, gotten rid of stuff, and even had to listen to animals. Today! Today we dance!
For 10-15 minutes…you need to dance! You can dance alone, with a friend, in a club, in your bedroom…like a crazy person in the subway. It doesn’t matter – just dance. Free yourself…feel silly…throw on your MC Hammer pants (that’s me) – and shake it like a Polaroid picture ;)
Do you dare? For those of you really feeling the YES – video yourself – and I will post it. Oh yeah!!!!
As a little treat – I am posting a video of a little dancing I did with my improv comedy group a few years ago. We choreographed a dance to celebrate all the great music moments of the 80’s. Enjoy!

I just got a text from a friend of mine telling me he had been dancing to Michael Jackson for the past 30 minutes! Nice work Jesse!

OK, this was on my "fears list"... So of course I looked up, laughed hard and said OK I GET IT!!!
I like to dance but find I don't do it often... So had fun putting on a CD, and a timer and moving;) beyond the time on the timer.. BEST thing was it helped me see I could do this regularly, really naturally in my day to day. Love the inspiration, Keep it coming!!!
It is 1:10am. My feet are killing me after a very long day of hoofing tubs and suitcases and the like up and down 3-4 flights of cement stairs. The girls are finally settling into the dorm and I have just sent off several emails concerning ...
You guys are awesome - I love it!

I used to dance every day, just something I loved to do and had to take time out for. As the challenges of life crowded in it's become a casuality of all that. So today I closed my office door (so my husband wouldn't catch me) put on my headphones and danced. Felt good. Will I do it everyday, we shall see. Catching my breath and getting back to work! thanks that was fun! Mary
I can tell you I did NOT look as cool as Chris - that was AWESOME! Thanks for sharing! The entry under "Sacred Poem" was only just the beginning, so I thought I would post the rest of that comment from Facebook: It is 1:10am. My feet are killing me after a very long day of hoofing tubs and suitcases and the like up and down 3-4 flights of cement stairs. The girls are finally settling into the dorm and I have just sent off several emails concerning Move-in weekend. Everything is crying n me to throw in the towel and take a day off. But I am refusing! I am EMBRACING YES with every ounce of my being. I am going to throw in the headphones and dance my booty off and I am going to LOVE it! And not only that but I am doing it to the FOOTLOOSE Soundtrack! I am not "Holding out for a Hero" like Bonnie Tyler (Footloose reference) I am going to be my OWN hero tonight! ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ HERE'S TO YESSSSSS!!!
So the follow up to this is that I did finally dance at 2am! As soon as the first few bars of Kenny Loggin's "Footloose" began filling my ears, I was swept back to 1984. Instantly, I was my 8-year old self again. I had prepared a show for my parents. They came in and my little sisters too. (I charged my parents a nickel but the kids got in "free with adult admission"!). I served them snack baggies of marshmallows and chocolate chips for their refreshments. Then I changed into my dance costume and performed the same 4 songs I had cued up for my 15 minutes of dance for this Yes-ercise. Such a joyful 15 mins!
Call me crazy, but twice the idea "just dance -- gonna be ok" has broken the mesmerism to the point of instantaneous healing. So, I could definitely see where this was going. Though, it took 'til 10:30pm this evening (after a late night at the office) to finally take advantage of this dance opportunity, let's just say, I discovered some new dance moves.....
In the words of JLo's most recent wonder "dance the night away...live your life and stay young on the floor" ;)
YES - dancing is so freakin' fun, thanks! KC and I just pumped up some fresh jams via Pandora and rocked to Milli Vanilli, Bob Marley, Michael Franti and whatever else came on - what a great way to end the evening.
